Heart nails and Black Friday shopping

Hey Guys!
Happy late thanksgiving :) As a non-American I must say that I haven't really connected with the tradition of thanksgiving yet but I have to say that the one week we got out of school was a big plus! I visited Atlanta with my family and we really enjoyed it, my favorite part was watching Cirque du Soleil... It was incredibly amazing! The acrobats usually started out with something that was impressive and then ended their performance with something that was absolutely unbelievable :D If anyone of you ever gets the chance to go, go for it it's so worth it! It was forbidden to take pictures but there is one I found on the internet and one of my favorites.

Did I mention that every performance had its little story and the whole thing pictured evolution? I also really enjoyed that part of the show.

I also visited the World of Coca-Cola, a must see when visiting Atlanta (although I am a Pepsi fan). I got a cute little lip balm with Coke taste hmmm...

We also went shopping at Macy's where I got three cute sweaters and a pyjama which happened to inspire my latest manicure:

I'm in love with these little cute hearts and from far away this mani looks like stickers.. I think it's because of the white base. My thumb turned out the best and the design was so easy that even my right hand looked good :)

I also went Black Friday shopping -of course. I got bareMinerals' Little Luxuries set since I needed a new mascara anyways so that came handy and I have never tried anything from bareMinerals before so I'm going to make a review about it soon. Also I bought a couple of nail polishes that I had been looking at for long- mint green and peach (my two new favorite colors) and a purple polish with green shimmer. I also  got a new topcoat from OPI. Prepare for some swatches and I already have some sweet designs in mind I can't wait to do but I want to give the hearts their time :)

bow nails

I really loved the cream shoes with the black bows that Meana posted some days ago and we are already planning the bow shirts so I really wanted to get some of those nail embellishment bows to make a matching mani.. i was browsing the internet for so long looking for bows that I could not wait any longer so I grabbed my black nail polish and some rhine stones and tada here is my adorable nail mani :)

I did them right before I went to bed which is why the surface has fabric marks but well.. I'm still in love with this design *.*

evening sky nails

The sunset is definitely one of my favorite things in Alabama. It is so pretty that I could sit there for ever and just watch and dream. And the colors work so well together and look almost heavenly that every time I see them I am fascinated.. Okay enough admiring of the sky for today^^ Buut I've always wanted to make my nails look like the light blue evening sky with the clouds with the orange shimmer of the setting sun and today I finally did it :) I was so excited and here they are:

They didn't turn out exactly how I expected but I am still pleased with the outcome. It was pretty easy to do too. I used the sponge technique to make the clouds:

Start with two coats or how many you need to reach full opacity. (Sorry for the bright light in the background..)

I didn't have the right orange that I wanted so I just mixed it with white on a piece of paper, dipped my sponge (I took a regular Scotch Brite and cut the blue part off) in the mixed nail polish and dabbed it on the parts of my nail where I wanted my clouds to be.

Trying to make a 3D effect or just adding reality to the nails, I dipped the sponge into the original nail polish and dabbed it on the down side of the clouds. When completely dried, put a clear top coat on and the design is done :)

Finally clean off any nail polish on your skin with a thin make-up Q-tip and 100% Acetone nail polish remover (this is so much faster and easier than the regular moisturizing nail polish removers! Seriously it saves to much time and effort!) and your mani is ready to go!

Oh I also remembered seeing some evening sky inspired shoes in one of my ELLE magazines and after looking through a few magazines I finally found them :D

I would probably not wear them - disregarding the fact that I could probably not afford these designer shoes anyways ;) - but I still think it is a pretty cool and unique idea and it definitely goes with my nails!

The nail polishes I used were:

-  Sally Hansen, Smooth and Perfect, 07 Sea
- Charlotte Russe Organe (I wouldn't recommend buying this because it chips very easily)
- Nina, 709243 French White

Halloween!

Hey my name is Elena and together with my friend Meana I decided -as you can see- to start a blog. Finding a name was harder than we thought since so many blog names are already  taken. At first we wanted to use pinkmango since Meana's favorite color is pink and I'm in love with Mangos - mango juice, mango candy, mango pie, even MANGO clothes.. Well we decided on Meana and me because.. well it sounds cool :) So here I am a little late with my Halloween Nail post!

I was rushing so the black little mouth and eyes of the ghosts smeared a little bit but you can't see it from far away. Oh and did I mention that they glow in the dark? Glow in the dark nail polish is so much fun and really impresses people ;) That's it for today!

I used:
NYC - 119 Black Lace Creme
Nina - 709243 French White
Clair's green Glow in the Dark
