They didn't turn out exactly how I expected but I am still pleased with the outcome. It was pretty easy to do too. I used the sponge technique to make the clouds:
Start with two coats or how many you need to reach full opacity. (Sorry for the bright light in the background..)
I didn't have the right orange that I wanted so I just mixed it with white on a piece of paper, dipped my sponge (I took a regular Scotch Brite and cut the blue part off) in the mixed nail polish and dabbed it on the parts of my nail where I wanted my clouds to be.
Trying to make a 3D effect or just adding reality to the nails, I dipped the sponge into the original nail polish and dabbed it on the down side of the clouds. When completely dried, put a clear top coat on and the design is done :)
Finally clean off any nail polish on your skin with a thin make-up Q-tip and 100% Acetone nail polish remover (this is so much faster and easier than the regular moisturizing nail polish removers! Seriously it saves to much time and effort!) and your mani is ready to go!
Oh I also remembered seeing some evening sky inspired shoes in one of my ELLE magazines and after looking through a few magazines I finally found them :D
I would probably not wear them - disregarding the fact that I could probably not afford these designer shoes anyways ;) - but I still think it is a pretty cool and unique idea and it definitely goes with my nails!
The nail polishes I used were:
- Sally Hansen, Smooth and Perfect, 07 Sea
- Charlotte Russe Organe (I wouldn't recommend buying this because it chips very easily)
- Nina, 709243 French White
